End of school activities? Busy spring schedule? Errands to do? No time for date night? You could take a break from your Burlington errands and relax in an authentic French Bistro.
Just take a little detour from the big box stores in Essex to Church Street. There, on the corner of Church and College Street a little bit of Paris is waiting for you. Leunig’s Bistro and Lounge serves authentic French cuisine with a touch of Vermont at prices not very much more than those chain restaurants.
When you are seated at your window side table and brought a glass of wine or craft beer, you will feel your cares starting to melt away. Maybe the weather is chilly outside and the windows are closed. But if it is warm, the windows are open and you are now in a Parisian sidewalk café.
The menu comes and you find it hard to choose between something exotic like Duck Confit Poutine or a simple Leunig’s BLT. Whatever you choose, it will be delicious. We have never had a bad meal here.
After the meal, you will have your choice of yummy European style desserts; if you are like us, after the wonderful entrée and maybe an appetizer, it will be hard to even think of dessert. Perhaps you will linger over a coffee or cappuccino.
When you leave, you will feel yourself revived and ready to take on the rigors of parenthood and home ownership again. Take a mid day staycation to Leunig’s and pretend that you have gone to France. Reservations for lunch are taken at 802-448-5415, but usually not necessary unless it is UVM graduation weekend.
