The Stowe Recreation Path is a 5.3 mile paved trail that criss-crosses the West Branch of Little River as it stretches from Stowe Village to Top Notch Resort on the Mountain Road. Breath-taking mountain views as well as access to restaurants, lodges and local businesses make the bike path one of the most popular ways to enjoy Stowe.
The Mountain Road Marketplace is easily accessed from the path with a wide variety of restaurants available for a refreshing break. Some restaurants have outdoor seating which provides a nice break along the path, including Idletyme, Piecasso, the Rusty Nail and Sushi Yoshi
Folks enjoy the Rec Path many different ways: on foot, on Rollerblades, but our favorite way is via bicycle. You can always bring your own, but lots of sports shops offer rentals including: AJ’s, Mountain Ops, and Pinnacle Ski & Sports; so you don’t need to drag that bike rack out of the rafters of your garage.
Please note as of May 15th, some sections of the Rec Path will be closed as some banks of the Little River are repaired.
You can get started on the Rec Path in the following places:
Lintilhac Park– behind the Stowe Community Church on Main Street in Stowe Village. [Google Maps]
