Spring Cleaning with Stowe Mt. Bike Club

Stowe Mountain Bike Club has set their Spring Cleaning day on May 16th.  So go ahead and mark your calendar; it seems a fair bet it won’t be snowing that day.

All of us enjoy the trails they’ve helped to pioneer so this is a great opportunity to pitch in, as well as meet some fellow riders.

For all the SMBC events, check out their homepage.

Not a member of the club?  Join today and help support the trail network.

DamNation is coming to Stowe

Spruce Peak Performing Arts is hosting a showing of the documentary DamNation on Saturday April 11th at 7 pm.   For details, Click Here

From the producers: “This powerful film odyssey across America explores the sea change in our national attitude from pride in big dams as engineering wonders to the growing awareness that our own future is bound to the life and health of our rivers. Dam removal has moved beyond the fictional Monkey Wrench Gang to go mainstream. Where obsolete dams come down, rivers bound back to life, giving salmon and other wild fish the right of return to primeval spawning grounds, after decades without access. DamNation’s majestic cinematography and unexpected discoveries move us through rivers and landscapes altered by dams, but also through a metamorphosis in values, from conquest of the natural world to knowing ourselves as part of nature”

Check out the film’s site for even more info.

Rt 108 Bridge Closed

Edit

Just wanted to put out the reminder that the Bridge St. bridge at the foot of Rt.108 in the village is closed as of today.

If you’ve gone through there you’ve seen the signs, but if you live in another part of town you may have forgotten.

Stowe Police info here…

Reminder that Rt. 100 paving is part of the Waterbury Roundabout project and will happen likely Spring of 2016. More Info here…
